Blenheim, South Island

We drove to Blenheim from Christchurch yesterday in the rain and had a beautifully clear day in Blenheim today.  We drove along the northeast coast of the south island.
A first for us - a tractor pulling a boat trailer.
Later on there was a bit of a road block.
We stopped for lunch at The Mussel Pot in Havelock (the Green-shelled Mussel Capitol of the World - they claim) and had some Green-shelled mussels. Check out their "Mussel Festival".
On the way back, we stopped at a few vineyards for tastings.  Cloudy Bay was pretty,
but Clos Henri won the prize for best building (and the wine was good too).
Then we took a short walk along the Taylor River in Blenheim.
Tomorrow we're flying to Wellington, on the north island.

  1. I feel like I am running out of ways to say AMAZING on my comments. Yet another round of fabulous pictures. By the way, I think the camera you got was a good choice. The pictures look great.
