Leave it to Breck.

First, the town held an Ullr Parade and festival to celebrate the Icelandic god who is suppose to bring more snow.  Imagine wanting more snow! The parade was quite unique...

... and even celebrated Colorado's new law.

Then, an international Snow Sculpting contest was held this week.  We saw the carvings about 18 hours before the judging - lots of work still going on.

Snow, Snow and More Snow

We went to the Frisco Nordic Center to snowshoe on a beautiful day.  The trail took us to an viewpoint overlooking Lake Dillon.

Then it stared to snow... this time we could snowshoe right from our front door.
That's Main Street Frisco and the next one is the rec path looking toward Copper.
A snow plow repair.
The piles are getting pretty big.

2014 in Colorado

We arrived in Frisco on the 29th of December and Jil and the girls came up on the 31st to spend a couple of days and help bring in the new year. We all stayed awake 'til midnight - quite an accomplishment.

Bart received a tennis ball piƱata from Kyle for Christmas.
Some fun in Frisco.

A beautiful January 1, 2014 morning.

Christmas in Tucson

I know; it's already New Year's in Colorado, but that will be the next post.  The only hint of fall at our house was our pomegranate tree.  After providing many pomegranates for us (and twice as many for the birds), the tree turned a beautiful color and gave us our only fall foliage.
Sunsets are also spectacular this time of year.
We came across this Christmas display on our way back from a hike in the Rincon Mountains -very original - all painted rocks.
Then time for Christmas at our house.
HOPE YOU ALL HAD GOOD HOLIDAYS!
