Family Visits in March

We spent 2 weeks in March with some of our children and their families.  First, in early March, we went to Phoenix for a week to meet up with Kate, James, Kyle and Liam.  Phoenix, instead of Tucson, for spring training baseball, museums, parks and restaurants.  Tucson has all except the spring training, but each one is a  40 minute drive, so we stayed in a hotel in Tempe and were close to everything.
Before the game there was some baseball for the kids and then, to our surprise, the Budweiser Clydesdales.

We went to the Phoenix Art Museum, the  and the Desert Botanical Gardens.

That's a Chihuly sculpture in the background.  The botanic gardens were full of them.
Here's another one that I loved.

Last week Jil, Chance and their girls came to Tucson - next post.

Florida

We went to Florida at the end of February to celebrate with Dinny Adams an friends, his 70th birthday.  First stop for us was Epcot and Disneyworld.
Waiting to go into the Tiki Room (where the birds sing words and the lowers croon).
It's a small world after all.

We left Orlando and drove about an hour south to Mountain Lake, where Dinny's gathering took place.  It was lovely and we visited Bok Tower, which I had visited with my parents in the 1950s.

Catching Up with January Happenings

We took Iz and her friend, Sam, to the Denver Art Museum. It was a fantastic day.

The red fox exhibit was a real hit.

Dressing up too.
And there was a Deborah Butterfield sculpture as well.  We saw her first ever exhibit in Colorado Springs in 1982 or 1983.
Out to brunch and then back to Louisville.
