Just Another Geeky Week

We went to a showing of O Brother, Where Art Thou? at out local indy movie house, The Loft, and then directly to a conert with Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys.
Great music and an amazing 2 hour performance by an 85 year-old.
I know it's not a great picture, but I only had my phone with me.

Saw this cool truck in the Safeway parking lot.  Go Ducks!
On Saturday, Bart and I supported our local high school by buying space for our own garage sale (along with lots of other people).  We sold a lot and went directly to Goodwill with the stuff that didn't sell.
This is late in the morning after we sold almost everything!

Santa Barbara and Washington DC Visits

I went to Santa Barbara for Wendy's birthday and had lots of fun - although it was pretty cold, as you can see by the baseball-watching attire.
Henry pitched 3 innings (Mae's game was rained out.)
Lucy and I went to ride at Leslie's barn on Monday.  Here's Lucy with her friend Shimay.
What better to see in southern California than this car?
The week before, Bart and I were in Wasington visiting Kathleen, Conor and Leyla.

Rye and the U.S. National Squash Championships

We arrived in Rye Tuesday and went to Wethersfield, CT Wednesday to have a family get together with my sister and her family.  Everyone (except 2 of her grandchildren and Carole's husband were there).  It was great to see the Lewis family.
Donna, Cindy, Carole, Bart, Kendall, Gretchen, Scott, Aislyn, Ruth, Rose, David, Risa, Dan, Michelle, Jim, Brady, and Jeffrey.

Back to Rye - couldn't resist taking a picture of our first house.
I went into Manhattan Thursday mainly to go to a Diego Rivera exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art.  Then I decided to visit the 9/11 Memorial at the World Trade Center site.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Bart and his partner won all their matches to become the U.S. 70+ 2012 National Doubles Champions!
A little court action (Bart on left in blue and white shirt).
The winners - Bart and his partner, John Osburn, on the right.
Matches were played at the Apawamis Club.
