La resistance commence

All pictures from Washington, DC  January 21, 2017.  I, my daughter Jil, her daughter Isabel, my "adopted" daughter Kathleen, her wife Leyla, and their son Conor, along with DC friends and relatives of Kathleen and Leyla all attended the Women's March on Washington.   It was great to be among so many committed people for such a big statement the day after the inauguration.

Sad Day

Sad to post this, but we're calling it "quits" for now. A knee injury to me (Cindy) has sidelined us. Ice and rest for a few days and then decide what to do. Staying at this place in Viana for a few days.

In Spain!

Last night we stayed at this cute little place, still in France. Tonight we are in Roncevalles, Spain. Glad that up and over the Pyrenees is behind us.

Indian Wells and Scotland

Bart was honored by the WTA at Indian Wells this year and introduced by Chris Evert.

Scotland - Glasgow and Edinburgh and Highlands.  Doune Castle might look familiar - from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Lots of castles - we travelled with a 10 year old.  Conor qualified for the World Championships, 11 and Under in Irish Dance.  That's why we were in Scotland.

Phoenix and Indian Wells

Havasu (Part I - Hiking in)

Started a great birthday week by joining an REI hiking and camping trip to the Supai reservation in the Grand Canyon.  Drove to Sedona 10/18 and hiked at Red Rock State Park.

 Then the next day we descended into the Grand Canyon. Here's the view from the top.

It was a 10 mile hike. Here we are about halfway there.

Mules and horses carried gear in both directions.  This looks like an empty load going up to the top to bring things down.

Nearing the bottom of the canyon, we stopped for lunch (4 miles to go to our campsite).
