Inside Bloomers

We had 3 gardenia flowers recently.  This was the easiest to photo.

A friend gave me one of those supermarket package plant last October. I followed the directions, kept it in the refrigerator in a brown paper bag for 5 months, then mixed the dirt, planted the bulb and

voilà -une jacinthe (hyacinth for you English speakers).

Saturday's Visitor

Imagine my surprise when I walked (or started to walk) out the garage door to the truck this morning.

After much research, we've decided that it is a "dark adult" Desert Kingsnake.

All the info sites show knigsnakes looking much more yellow or banded.
